Within a calibration process, the person in charge firstly looks at the list of tools and extracts those that need to be verified in the short term and then prepares the forms to be compiled. Secondly, during the follow-up phase, he records the values and calculates all the errors, returns them to the module, and compares them with the maximum errors reported on the module. If a point is out of specification, he will provide the instrument calibration. After performing the verification and the potential calibration of all the instruments to be checked, the maintainer completes the paperwork and updates the table with the checks just performed.

The most commonly problems related to the calibration operation are:

  • The maintenance manager must “remember” to check the verification table to see which tools need to be verified and when;
  • The forms must be prepared and completed by hand, with the possibility of transcript errors;
  • The error calculation must be done manually with the possibility of typing errors;
  • The list of instruments to be calibrated must be updated manually.

Therefore, for instruments calibration, it is always important to have a means of rapid intervention, data security and simplicity of management.

Specifically, all instruments are labelled with a Smart Point® memory, which contains all the information forming the instrument record card and which are updated for each maintenance and / or calibration operation.

The software supplied, besides enabling interaction with Smart Point® memory (read and write), permit the simplification of cards management and scheduling of activities, and, in the opening phase, automatically signals the interventions expiring.

The calibration and maintenance reports are compiled automatically from the information entered on the instrument card and from those related the sample instrument.
